'Islands in the stream' - Dolly P and Kenny R. Fabulous.
Other news (while I am here). I now have 3, THREE dresses for my friend's wedding on Saturday. I bought one in the States so as to avoid the 'oh my god someone is wearing my dress' situation (this happened to me at the last wedding I went to) and now when I try it on it just doesn't sit right. I think its because I am expanding surely but slowly and Steve just thinks I am silly. I bought another 2 today, both from Jigsaw. One is incredibly comfy, black and elegant and has a handy 'ruched' panel at the front and a swishy hem - the other is a definite no-go, not sure why I even got it. Will be taking that one back on my way home I think.
I am so nervous as I have to do a reading in front of zillions of people. A big reading! Wish me luck and promise, promise me you wont laugh when I trip up on the stairs and get tongue-tied.
Now I need to organise accessories - what do you think - black clutch? Pink clutch? Gold clutch? I am leaning towards the latter.
When skimming a magazine (or book or newspaper) do you flip through the pages from front to back or back to front?

From front to back?
What, to you, is the first sign of spring? Have you seen it yet?

Daffodils and I've seen plenty of them. Most of mine probably wont survive the cold snap though. *tears*
Seriously, I can't stop changing the design - there is WAY too much choice.
The penguin I adopted Steve for Val's day is called Stanley and he is 3 ft tall. The info pack was a thrilling read (no sarcasm) and he even put the penguin badge on his man-bag. I asked if a trip to the Falklands to visit him would be out of the question, he just looked at me - blankly. I have no limits.
So now I am a Mother of 3 sons. My first born - Hector the Cat, our penguin - Stanley and our intruder - Eko (fierce determination) the Cat. I don't often mingle with Eko as he thinks I am going to kill him but I did buy him a fleece blanket from Jolly's - to protect the sofa he sleeps on of course ;o)
Top tip: wearing a skirt and shoes with (deliberate) holes in them, in this weather, is stupid.
I am wearing tights but, by the power of greyskull, I think I may have to dig the Uggs back out from the ‘winter’ cupboard!
How on earth are we meant to look forward to the summer when we’re being attacked by large lumps of sleet and stones of hail? Poor planet.
To cheer us up (me, me up) here is a picture of our picnic in the Grand Canyon . The memory makes me happy - thoughts of the nausea and dizziness that accompanied the heli ride are, nicely, distant.
[Wont let me add a pic but you can find it in my photos)
What family member do you most aspire to be like? Why?

My cousin, James - he was a lovely bloke, basically.
1 comment from my trip to the States
If I lived in America I would be the size of a house (and more).
1 highlight from my trip to the States
Helicopter ride to and picnic in the Grand Canyon. At sunset. Lovely - although quite a bumpy ride.
I am now almost fast asleep and kind of missing the bright lights. The slot machine noise is still ringing in my ears oh and I won £300 on roulette in the Bellagio (that was also a highlight)!
